A good day to drop by a 7-Eleven and get your Slurpee on! The convenience store ‘s popular Slurpee drink is turning 50 this year. As part of the celebration, 7-Eleven stores are offering Slurpee fans the opportunity to bring in their own cups, today and tomorrow, from 11 a.m. and 7 p.m., and fill them up with their favorite flavor for only $1.50.
This is the second annual “Bring Your Own Cup Day” at 7-Eleven. “Last year’s BYOCup Day was a huge hit, and because this year is the big Slurpee Fiftee celebration, we added a second day so more people can get in on the fun,” said Laura Gordon, 7-Eleven executive, in a news release. “We saw just how creative Slurpee fans can get during the first BYOCup Day. They filled drums, kettles, fish bowls, helmets and teapots. I can’t wait to see what they bring this year.”
There are some guidelines: “Cups cannot be more than 9 inches wide and 11 inches tall and must be leak-proof, safe and sanitary. That means no trash cans or trash bags, kiddy pools or kitchen sinks.” Read more about the rules here.
