Cloudy and cool in Burbank today, but sunny skies and warmer temperatures are in the forecast for this weekend — just in time for the Downtown Burbank ARTS Festival. There will be “90 regional artists displaying thousands of paintings, sculptures and photographs, and an wide array of jewelry, fine glass, ceramics and woodwork — with everything made by hand, ” according to a news release from the Downtown Burbank Partnership. Also featured, a number of hip talented street painters from Southern California “… creating supersized artwork on asphalt and concrete.” I saw first hand some of the amazing artwork created by the street painters at the spring version of the Downtown Burbank ARTS Festival, back in April. This is a biannual event in its 9th year.
The festival will be on San Fernando Boulevard, between Magnolia Boulevard and Olive Avenue, and is expected to attract more than 12 thousand art lovers. It opens on Saturday November 3 and runs through Sunday November 4, from 10 a.m. to 5.p.m. The event is free and open to the public. For more information call (818) 238-5180.
