The Burbank General Municipal Election is Tuesday, April 9, less than three weeks away. The Burbank Association of Realtors is offering a free opportunity to hear the candidates discuss the issues and concerns of the residents in the Media City at two forums.
There are two seats up for election on the Burbank Unified School District Board. The candidates are: Larry Applebaum, Steve Ferguson, Charlene “Char” Tabet, and David Dobson. The contenders are scheduled to speak at the Burbank Board of Realtors meeting at 2006 West Magnolia Boulevard tomorrow, Thursday, March 21. Time: 8:30-9:30 a.m.
Also, tomorrow, the Burbank Association of Realtors will host a public forum for the candidates in the run-off for two seats on the Burbank City Council. This forum will be at the Burbank Central Library at North Glenoaks Boulevard and East Olive Avenue. Time: 6-8 p.m. The candidates are: David Nos, Dave Golonski, Jess Talamantes, and Dr. David Gordon.
Did you get your ballot?
I haven’t received mine yet.Voters are supposed to begin receiving those mail-in ballot packets after March 15, according to information posted on the Burbank city website. Oh, I did get a mailer this week from Mayor/Councilman, Dave Golonski.
It showcases a glowing endorsement of the 20-year councilman from our local Congressman, Adam Schiff. Also, there’s a smiling photo of Golonski, with the representative of the 28th Congressional District, on this slick campaign postcard. It probably cost some serious dollars.
Clearly, the message from the mayor is he’s not going down or being voted out of office, without a fight. Watch out, Golonski is turning up the campaign heat!
