T Mobile just upped the ante in the high stakes game to attract new users from AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint. At the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas yesterday, T Mobile announced a new plan that will cover the early termination fees for users who make the switch. This offer could amount to as much as $650 for new T Mobile customers.
In a post on Forbes, T Mobile CEO John Legere is quoted as saying “78% of customers said they would switch if someone paid their early termination fees.” This is the latest salvo in the battle for new wireless customers. A few days ago, AT&T offered a $450 credit for users who switched to its network.
This aggressive tactic worked for T Mobile in 2013 when it added more than four million new customers. This war for subscribers is generating some good deals for consumers. More here
