The Quizno’s sandwich fast food outlet near the intersection of West Magnolia Boulevard and North Hollywood Way in Burbank is getting new life as a Pizza Studio. This is a high-profile location, right across from the always busy Porto’s Bakery and Cafe. Despite the primo address, the Quizno’s had struggled for some time — you rarely saw more than one or two customers in the place. It shut down shortly after the restaurant chain, which offers toasted submarine sandwiches, filed for bankruptcy protection last month.
Today construction is underway at the site to turn it into a Pizza Studio, which allows you to build your own tasty pie from various types of dough, sauces, and unlimited toppings for about $8 bucks. Their motto: “Create Your Own Masterpiece.” The Los Angeles based company opened its first build-your-own pizza joint last year near USC and is expanding quickly.
Right now in the Southland, there are Pizza Studios in Los Angeles, Buena Park, and one set to open soon in Mission Viejo.
