Yet another new development in the Los Angeles Clippers/Donald Sterling drama. CNN is reporting today that sources are saying banned Clippers owner, Donald Sterling, has been found to be “mentally incapacitated” by two neurologists. The medical diagnosis apparently was the reason Shelly Sterling became the sole trustee of the Sterling Family Trust and able to negotiate that big money deal for the Clippers yesterday. Ex-Microsoft executive, Steve Ballmer, beat out all other bidders with a $2 billion offer.
ESPN reports sources are saying Sterling is suffering from Alzheimer’s disease. Many have suspected something was not quite right with Sterling’s thinking considering his off -the-wall racist rant, capricious behavior, and confusing rambling statements during that controversial interview with CNN’s Anderson Cooper earlier this month.
Sterling’s lawyer, Max Blecher, denied his client was mentally incapacitated, but admitted the 80 year-old billionaire had what he called, ” modest mental impairment. ” Oh, Blecher also announced Sterling plans to file a $1 billion lawsuit against the NBA.
