Realtor and Burbank Planning Board Vice-Chair, Chris Rizzotti, has picked up a major endorsement in the Burbank City Council race from local Assemblyman Mike Gatto (D-Los Angeles). The nomination period for that 2015 race doesn’t open until next month, but Rizzotti has been running hard since announcing his candidacy back in March. He was the first candidate to officially toss his hat in the ring for two seats on the city council. Journalist, Will Rogers, and Burbank Police Commissioner, Elise Stearns-Niesen, have come out as council candidates, as well.
“Simply put, Chris is very qualified for the job. He’s a lifelong Burbank resident, who knows our community, and how to keep it special. He is smart and dedicated — someone who will fight for the important issues, instead of politics as usual. I know Chris will do a great job for Burbank,” Gatto told Media City Groove yesterday. Gatto represents the 43rd district, which includes Burbank, Glendale, La Cañada Flintridge, La Crescenta, Montrose and several nearby Los Angeles neighborhoods.
On his campaign website, Rizzotti has a long list of endorsements. Some of the prominent names on that list, Burbank School Board members Dave Kemp and Charlene Tabet, ex-Burbank Council member/mayor, Marsha Ramos, and Burbank City Council member, Emily Gabel-Luddy, who is up for re-election along with fellow council member Gary Bric.
