If you went looking on the Burbank city website for Tuesday night’s town hall meeting, you’re not alone. A notice posted on the city website and a news release stated: “The Town Hall meeting will be televised and accessible on demand on the City’s YouTube page.” I was among those who assumed televised meant some sort of live streaming. Well, that was not the case.
In an email exchange, Burbank public information officer, Drew Sugars, told me “…it was at a remote location (Luther Burbank Middle School) where we could only record it.” Hmm. Perhaps the notice and the news release should have said the meeting would be videotaped and available for playback later.
The taped version of the meeting is not yet up on the city website. When I asked Sugars about this he said, “The video will not be ready for air until after the State of the City on Wednesday, October 29th.” Sugars estimates the video will be up on the site either October 30 or 31.
