A lot of holiday cheer and great food at the festive Toluca Lake Holiday Open House , “Let There Be Light,” last night. Pink’s free hot dogs was one of the major attractions. Hundreds lined up for the famous dogs.
Pink’s main location is at La Brea and Melrose Avenues in Hollywood, where they have been selling their prized hot dogs since 1939. Lately, the family run company has branched out to other locations as well as into the catering business.
The Pink’s tent began serving free wieners at 5:45 p.m. yesterday and the word spread fast among the crowds that strolled Riverside Drive.
By 7:35 p.m. the Pink’s tent had passed out its supply of 1,000 hotdogs! Despite the large crowds and long lines, Aileen Watanabe, director of social media and catering for Pink’s, says the giveaway “went very well.” A shout out to some very polite and organized Los Angeles Police Department cadets who kept the lines orderly and moving. Watanabe says the giveaway was a joint venture with the hot dog producer Hoffy, Pink’s, and the office of Los Angeles City Councilman Tom LaBonge.
More on the Toluca Lake Open House coming.
