Those gorgeous red poinsettias brighten the holiday season and they are in much demand by the Burbank Tournament of Roses Association. If you have some to spare and would like to donate them to the 2015 Burbank Rose Float — you are asked to drop the plants off at the building site before December 28.
The float construction barn is at the Burbank Water and Power yard at 123 W. Olive Avenue, under the Olive bridge, near the intersection of Flower street and Olive Avenue.
Also, they need eager volunteers to help decorate this year’s Burbank Rose Float, “Jungle Rescue.” Kids are welcome, but they must be at least 5 and be accompanied by a parent or guardian if under 14. Also, everyone must sign a release form. For more on the rules and requirements and contact information go to the association website.
Guests and volunteers are invited to the association’s monthly meeting today 7:30 p.m. at McCambridge Park Recreation Center , 1,1515 North Glenoaks Boulevard, in Burbank.
