Burbank and the rest of the Southland got pounded by a major storm yesterday and a second is expected to hammer us hard today. Meanwhile, more storms are lining up to roll through our area. Weather watchers say this is the first series of El Niño storms to hit Southern California this winter. We’ve been hoping for rain — now we’re getting it in a big way!
Periods of rain predicted throughout the day, with thunderstorms and some heavy downpours at time. The Media City could get as much as an inch of rain today. The temperatures to remain cool — high today in the 50s, lows in the 40s tonight. Also, the National Weather Service says we could get winds up to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph as well. Some very stormy weather ahead — time to break out the serious rain gear: hats, gloves, boots, and umbrellas — the works.
