The ticket was sold at an Orange County supermarket — Pavilions Place 21181 Newport Coast Drive in Newport Coast. The ticket had all of the lucky numbers except the Mega ball. It is worth $1,016,356. Lottery officials say the winner has six months to come forward with that lucky ticket.
Here are all the winning numbers from the Friday August 16 draw: 22, 38, 48, 51, 61, and the Mega 5.
The clock is ticking on the next Mega Millions draw, which is Tuesday, August 20. Tickets are $2 each. Mega Millions draws take place on Tuesdays and Fridays. The odds of winning the big jackpot is 1 in 302,575,350.
In a news release, state lottery officials reported: “For every ticket sold in California, approximately 80 cents helps fund public education.”
