More Halloween like weather for Burbank. Today’s cool temps and mostly cloudy skies will turn even gloomier tonight with more clouds, a chance of showers, and a full eerie glowing moon. Perfect time for the creatures of the night to come out. Last night in Burbank, there were plenty of the spooky-kind at the opening of the “Nightmare at the Museum” attraction.
Haunted houses are doing a booming business this year. The local one at 907 North California Street is free, but donations are accepted for the Family Service Agency of Burbank. For the past 20 years, this very professional and yes, scary, haunted house has been run by the family of Steve Ferguson, Chair of the Burbank Park, Recreation & Community Services Board. “Started out as a celebration for a cousin’s birthday…” and has grown into annual community event, according to Ferguson.
A crowd of more than a hundred, showed up for the preview and to see Burbank Mayor Anja Reinke’s scream of an opening ceremony. Great fun! Other city officials mingling in the crowd, Burbank City Councilman, Dr. David Gordon, and Chair of the Burbank Police Commission, Robert Frutos.
More on this haunted house later. By the way, it’s open tonight 7- 9 p.m. Also, on October 29, 30, and 31 from 7-9 p.m.
