Radio superstar Steve Harvey is now a best selling author with a book that’s flying off of store shelves. Harvey’s relationship book, “Act Like A lady, Think Like A Man,” is number one on the New York Times list in the category of hardcover advice and How-to books. Today “Act Like A Lady, Think Like A Man” is number one on the Barnes & Noble website and on Amazon as well.
Like its best selling predecessor, “He’s Just Not That Into You,” Harvey’s book is a guide for women on how men think. Harvey dishes out his advice about the male perspective on love, relationships, commitment, and intimacy with humor and wit sprinkled throughout his 240 page book.
Let me tell ya, women are digging this book. Personally, from my hair salon to Sunday after church brunch, many women I know are talking about and reading Harvey’s book. These aren’t twenty-something women new to the dating game, not hardly. They are married, have been married, or single long enough to have gained some experience with men. Still, they’re reading and soaking up Harvey’s advice. Go figure.
Harvey is a man of many talents. Back in the mid-1980s, Harvey was doing stand-up comedy, which led to the WB TV network series, “The Steve Harvey Show.” It ran from 1996 to 2002. Also, Harvey has toured with D.L Hughley, Cedric the Entertainer, and the late Bernie Mac as one of the “Kings of Comedy.”
Meanwhile, Harvey continues to burn up the airways with his popular nationally syndicated “The Steve Harvey Morning Show.” Harvey’s morning drive show reportedly is heard on more than 60 stations with almost seven million listeners weekly. Locally, the Hip Hop and R&B station The Beat, at 93.5 FM in Redondo Beach, carries “The Steve Harvey Morning Show” from 6 AM to 10 AM.
