Movie fans got hooked on the action/adventure/thriller “Taken” this Super Bowl weekend. “Taken” debuted number one with an estimated haul of $24.6 million. In the film, Liam Neeson plays an ex-government spy who has only a few days to find his kidnapped daughter.
“Paul Blart: Mall Cop” dropped from number one to second place this weekend with $14 million. After three weeks the comedy has earned around $83 million in theaters nationwide. A new horror flick, “The Uninvited” came in third with $10.5 million, followed by the family film, “Hotel for Dogs” in fourth with $8.7 million and rounding out the top five, the Clint Eastwood drama “Gran Torino” with $8.6 million.
