I dropped by the Tallyrand restaurant at 1700 West Olive Avenue around 4:30 p.m. yesterday for an early dinner. This is usually a slow time for eateries , but to my surprise, the Rand was bustling with activity. The reason: a fundraiser for senior services in Burbank. If a customer requested it, the restaurant management donated 20 per cent of the bill to that cause.
While I enjoyed my super tuna melt with tomatoes and a side of juicy fruit, I watched the customers come in and the booths and tables fill up.
Among those coming in to dine during this fundraiser, Laura Frutos, the wife of Burbank city councilman, Bob Frutos The fundraiser ran from 2 p.m. unto 9 p.m. Karen Ross, the owner, told me “a steady stream” of customers began arriving at the start of the fundraiser and continued throughout the afternoon and evening.
So a much deserved shout out to the Tallyrand for showing support for Burbank seniors.
