A surprising 53.3% of the ballots cast in the Burbank Primary Nominating Election last month were for Bob Frutos . Never before has a newcomer won out over three incumbents in Burbank. The voters made a powerful show of support for change by casting their ballots for Bob.
I am so proud of the Burbank residents who came out in force to vote. In this primary, 9, 869 ballots were cast — 1,700 more than in the 2011 primary.
We have another general election coming up Tuesday, April 9th. There’s a run-off for two remaining seats on the city council. The four candidates are David Nos, and three city council incumbents, Dr. David Gordon, Jess Telamantes, and Dave Golonski. This election will decide the future fate of our city.
I am voting for Dr. David Gordon. He has the same honesty and integrity as Bob Frutos. Dr. Gordon cares deeply for our residents and works very hard for us. We may not all agree with him on every issue, however, he is fair, tough and unwilling to compromise his efforts to gain financial strength for our city and the former respect Burbank once had. We need to support him in this election.
I say congratulations to Bob Fruto and I wish Dr. Gordon the same success in next month’s important general election.
