Many residents in Burbank would like to participate in the inner workings of the city if they had the extra time to perhaps attend council meetings on Tuesdays. This is most often impossible for many, as the council meetings have been known to run late into the evening. Sometimes 11:00 p.m. and on occasion until 2:00 a.m. As many of these residents have families, early morning jobs or are elderly and can’t sit in one spot for hours they do not show up at city hall.
This brings me to the two gentlemen who regularly take their time to show up, on behalf of those, the many who can not attend. They regularly interact with people in this community and have become the voice for many of us.
They are Mike Nolan and David Piroli, both long time residents. These two citizens stand up for important community issues that many of us are affected by and not always informed about. Mike Nolan is especially savvy with the police and fire departments. He tells it like it is . He lets Councilman, Dave Golonski, know in no uncertain terms, when he feels Golonski opposes what is right and ethical.
David Piroli is also well versed on what goes on in Burbank on virtually every subject. He and Mike Nolan are both insightful and speak freely on matters that we the public need to know about.
I would like to say Thank You, to both Mike Nolan and David Piroli, as they show up at almost every council meeting and express their viewpoint and often that of their various neighbors . They take the time.
