A police investigation is underway today into what may be a tragic case of fan obsession. The body of 30-year-old Paula Goodspeed was found inside a car on Beverly Ridge Drive in Sherman Oaks, not far from the home of “American Idol” judge Paula Abdul, late yesterday.
Goodspeed reportedly auditioned for the popular TV talent show during its fifth season. However, the Thousand Oaks contestant’s rendition of “Proud Mary” was rejected by the judges. There are reports Goodspeed had been “stalking” Abdul, a pop singer and former Los Angeles Laker Girl. Adul has been a judge on “American Idol” since its first season in 2002.
Authorities are investigating Goodspeed’s death as a possible suicide.
