Burbank Police today announced the arrest of 54-year-old Mark Logan of Burbank, in connection with that attempted bank robbery in Magnolia Park last Thursday. As reported here on Media City Groove, Burbank Police responded to the Bank of America at 3400 West Magnolia Boulevard at 5:20 p.m. on August 17, 2017.

“When Police Officers arrived, they learned a man had entered the bank, approached a teller, and passed a note stating he was armed with a gun and demanding cash. The teller walked away from the suspect, at which time he fled the bank. The suspect did not obtain any money from the teller prior to leaving. With the assistance of air support, officers conducted a search for the suspect, but did not locate him,” according to a news release.
The suspect is seen on surveillance video wearing thick rimmed glasses and a Chicago Cubs shirt. When detectives reviewed the bank video they reportedly recognized him from an unrelated police investigation several hours earlier. The next morning, police reportedly responded to a call of a vehicle driving recklessly in the area of Burbank Blvd. and Mariposa Street . The vehicle was stopped. The news release says:”It was then discovered the driver was the suspect believed to be responsible for the attempted robbery of Bank of America, as well as the disturbance call earlier that day.”
During the arrest, Logan reportedly “behaved erratically. He was uncooperative and kicked a Burbank Police Officer.” Also, while in custody, Logan allegedly “made statements implicating himself in the attempted robbery of Bank of America.”
Logan is being held without bail. He’s scheduled to appeared in court Tuesday, September 5.
