Pretty much everyone has had a daydream or two about fighting for truth and justice as a comic book superhero. Actress and singer Beyonce is lobbying hard to bring her action heroine dream to the big screen. Beyonce wants to dress up in the red, white, and blue outfit of Wonder Woman and kick some serious villain butt, according to an interview in a blog on the Los Angeles Times website.
The 27-year-old entertainer clearly has the, ah, physical assets for the role. She’s best known as successful singer. In fact, Beyonce has a new album, ” I Am…Sasha Fierce,” scheduled to come out on November 18.
Lately, Beyonce has been making her mark as an actress. She has a role in the upcoming “Cadillac Records.” I thought she was quite good in the 2006 movie musical, “Dreamgirls.” I think it is to Beyonce’s credit that she managed to shine in that film even though Jennifer Hudson, playing Effie, was clearly the star.
Actress Lynda Carter had great success playing Wonder Woman on TV back in the 1970s. Beyonce says she would portray the character differently, “A black Wonder Woman would be a powerful thing. It’s time for that, right?”
