The Mega Millions jackpot is huge!!! This week, that lottery game money pot jumped to a billion dollars and is still climbing. Today, it stands at $1.22 billion, but it will most likely be even more by draw time tonight.
In the most recent draw, Tuesday, December 24, one lucky California winner got five of the winning numbers. That ticket was purchased in the San Joaquin Valley town of Lemoore in Kings County. It is worth almost $2 million or $1,774,447! The winning numbers from the Christmas Eve draw are 11, 14, 38, 45, 46, and the Mega Ball 3.
Lottery officials say that for every $2 Mega Millions ticket sold in the Golden State, approximately 80 cents goes to help fund public education. Ticket sales for tonight’s draw closes at 7:45 pm.
