Tuesday, March 29 — Behind the scenes at “Downton Abbey” at the Buena Vista Library , 300 North Buena Vista Street, begins 7 p.m. tonight. English actress, comedy writer, and author, Diz White, will take the audience on a colorful , amusing, and visual journey of Cotswolds, an area in south central England, where she has a cottage. Also White will include the filming locations for the popular PBS drama, “Downton Abbey,” and her experience meeting the cast. White is the author of several books including her latest, “More Cotswolds Memoirs.” There will be a free gift for visitors. Oh, tea and biscuits will be served, too.
Saturday and Sunday, April 16 and April 17 — Thousands expected to turn out for the latest Downtown Burbank Arts Festival. It runs an entire weekend, from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m, between Angeleno Avenue and Magnolia Boulevard on San Fernando Boulevard. The area will be brimming with special effects and street artists, as well as more than 100 painters, photographers, and sculptors. More information here.
Saturday, April 30 — Get some exercise for a good cause. The 9th Annual Care Walk, in support of the youth counseling programs at the Burbank Family Service Agency, will be at Robert E. Gross Park 2814 West Empire Avenue. Check-in is 7:30 a.m. and the 5K walk begins at 8 a.m. Registration fee includes a T-shirt, gift bag, and pancake breakfast.
