The doors at the Burbank Central Library are closed for at least another week. The Central Library was supposed to reopen yesterday after a one-week closure reportedly for some updates and repairs. An email notice was sent out yesterday advising the public that the new target date for the library’s reopening is now Monday, August 24.
The Central Library at 110 North Glenoaks Boulevard was shutdown last week to prepare for upgrades to the material management system, which include credit card payments, self check-out, and improved security on all library materials.
The other two branches of the Burbank library recently completed the one-week procedure without a hitch. Apparently issues at the Central Library are taking longer to resolve than expected, so the facility will be shuttered at least through this Saturday.
