The Burbank Primary Nominating Election is heading into the home stretch. The election is this Tuesday, February 26. If you’ve already mailed in your ballot, excellent! If not, it’s time to start thinking of an alternative way to get your ballot to the Burbank City Clerk’s Office. All ballots must be in the city clerk’s office by the deadline of 7 p.m. on Election Day.

My ballot choices:
I mailed off my ballot in the prepaid envelope a few days ago. Here are the candidates who got my votes.
City Council (3)
David Gordon. A strong, independent voice on the council. I don’t always agree with Dr. Gordon, but appreciate his willingness to ask the tough questions even when some of his fellow council members grumble, scoff, and complain about those questions.
Bob Frutos and Juan Guillen. The council needs new ideas and candidates eager to take a fresh look at the issues.
Burbank School Board (2)
Also, in need of new ideas and candidates willing to think outside the box.
Steve Ferguson and David Dobson.
City Clerk
Gloria Salas. I was impressed with her articulate responses to questions in one of the the League of Women Voters Glendale/Burbank candidates forums, January 30, 2013. Check out the forums here. Candidates for city council and school board participate these forums as well.
City Treasurer
Debbie Kukta. Experienced and competent. She is running unopposed.
