Burbank just might be on a lottery roll. In the past two months, there have been two big wins in the Media City — for a total of $1, 344, 779! Just a few days ago, someone purchased a winning Mega Millions ticket for the March 28, 2014 draw, and it is worth $344, 779. That ticket was bought at Burbank Deli and Market at 1414 West Alameda Avenue.
In February, a security guard got real lucky when he stopped in at the 7-11 at 600 North Glenoaks Boulevard and bought a a California Black Exclusive scratcher. That stop turned out to be a life changer for Mitchel Reynolds.
Reynolds found out he had won a million dollars when he checked that scratcher during his graveyard shift. Being a dedicated employee, Reynolds finished his shift and then went by the 7-11 to confirm his win. He’s the first winner for the California Black Exclusive scratcher game.
What’s he going to do with the money? Reynolds told lottery officials he will pay off his mom’s house, buy himself a new Toyota Prius, and he may spoil his new puppy a little. The owner of that Burbank 7-11 got $5,000 for selling that winning scratcher.
Nice to see the lottery money get spread around — right here in Burbank.
