Burbank Police Department has a winner on the force and it rolls on four wheels. The department’s vintage 1949 Ford police cruiser has won the 2012 California Peace Officers Association “Best Specialty Vehicle” award. The cruiser has been restored with donations from local businesses and individuals, according to a news release from the Burbank PD.

The retro cruiser has appeared at a number of city events including the 2012 Burbank on Parade. Most days it’s on display in the museum at the Burbank Police and Fire Headquarters at 200 North Third Street.
Burbank’s vintage police cruiser will be spotlighted at the three-day CPOA/COPSWEST convention next Monday, October 15. Burbank representatives reportedly will be on hand to accept the award.
