Burbank, California – A pedestrian has died after being struck by a suspected DUI driver.
On June 28, 2024, at about 4:30 P.M., Burbank Police and Paramedics responded to the area of Olive Avenue and Glenoaks Boulevard regarding a traffic collision involving a pedestrian. When police officers and paramedics arrived, they located a female in the alley of the 400 block of East Olive Avenue, who was suffering from serious injuries. The 76-year-old pedestrian was ultimately pronounced deceased by paramedics.
The pedestrian has been identified as Anahid Sarkissian, a 76-year-old resident of Burbank.
The driver was detained by police and a DUI investigation was conducted.
The driver of the vehicle has been identified as Vincent Carnegie, a 64-year-old resident of Burbank. Mr. Carnegie was determined to be under the influence, arrested and booked into the Burbank City Jail for vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated. He has since posted the $100,000 bail. Mr. Carnegie is due to appear in court on Wednesday, July 24, in Burbank. Formal charges are pending review bythe Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
