Time is running out to return those 2017 Burbank Primary Election ballots. Burbank City Clerk, Zizette Mullins, says approximately 67,000 ballots were mailed out to registered voters in Burbank. So far the return has been disappointing. As of last Wednesday, 5,800 mail-in ballots had been return. By last Saturday, that number had climbed to 7, 890.
In the 2015 Burbank Primary, 8,985 were returned. Mullins says they’re “hoping to exceed that number” in the 2017 primary. I hear a lot of complaints about what is wrong in Burbank. If those complaints have merit, voters need to vote. It’s so easy for officials to believe the status quo is just fine when the majority of voters don’t bother to cast their ballot in a city election.
It’s too late to mail in your ballot, but it can be dropped off at the Burbank City Clerk’s Office in City Hall during regular business hours today. Tomorrow, there will be several designated drop-off centers open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. Go here for the list.
