California June 7 primary preliminary results for 2016 are out. In Los Angeles County more than a million voters cast their ballots, according to the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/ County Clerk’s Office. Here’s a tweet sent out by Los Angeles County Clerk Dean Logan.

The number of county residents registered to vote for the primary 4,809,383. Like voters across the county and throughout the state, yesterday thousands of Burbankers went to the polls set up in residential garages, schools, and even fire stations. Statewide, 17,915,053 Californians were registered to vote in the primary. That means 72.29 percent of eligible California citizens are registered to vote. California Secretary of State, Alex Padilla, says that’s the highest ever statewide voter registration for a primary election.

See the Los Angeles County election results here. On July first the County Clerk’s office is scheduled to certify the election. A short time later, the Board of Supervisors will declare the results official. The certified results must be reported to the Secretary of State by July 8, 2016.
