The wait is almost over for the much talked about Whole Foods Market in Burbank. Since opening in Austin, Texas in 1980, the upscale market has become one of the most popular and most desired among shoppers. Also, last summer’s purchase of Whole Foods by the giant Amazon has the lure of lower prices as well.
The Media City Whole Foods is set to open tomorrow morning, Wednesday, June 20 inside the still developing controversial Talaria Project, 3401 West Olive Avenue. Construction crews have been working weekends and holidays (Memorial Day) in the scramble to make the opening.
None of the 200-plus luxury apartments in this mixed use project are ready for renters. The plan reportedly is to open model units in a few weeks.
Chick-fil-A coming soon?
Recently, a sign went up at the old El Torito location, 3113 West Olive Ave, claiming “Chick-fil-A coming soon.” Well, not real soon.
In the past few days the old restaurant has been nearly gutted, suggesting a major rebuilding is about to get underway. Chick-fil-A fans need to be patient.
It’s going to be a while before you get to chow down at this Chick-fil-A Burbank.
New cosmetic company on Magnolia Blvd.
Meanwhile, the new Naimie’s is getting ready to open on Magnolia Blvd. The patching and painting of the building at 2721 West Magnolia Blvd. is underway. They’re in the final stages of the work, which began late last year.
Naimie’s is a hair, skin care, and makeup store. It has a big online presence and the main store is on Riverside Drive in Valley Village. Burbank will be the second location for the company.
