Justice was swift and powerful today for the embattled owner of the Los Angeles Clippers. During a news conference late this morning, NBA commissioner, Adam Silver, announced Donald Sterling is banned for life from the NBA. The ban is the result of an investigation by the NBA ,which determined it was indeed Sterling who got caught on tape making racist remarks.
As part of the punishment, the commissioner hit Sterling with a $2.5 million fine. Also, Silver says Sterling is going to be forced to sell the Los Angeles Clippers. “Sentiments of this kind are contrary to the principles of inclusion and respect that form the foundation of our diverse, multicultural and multi-ethnic league,” Silver said.
Here is part of that news conference.
