DreamWorks Animation, one of the major players in the local entertainment industry, has been linked to a wage-fixing conspiracy, according to a post on NikkiFinke.com. The Glendale-based studio along with Pixar and Lucasfilm’s Industrial Light & Magic, reportedly made a secret agreement not to poach each others employees in what amounted to an alleged “wage-fixing cartel.” DreamWorks Animation has approximately two thousand employees.
The damaging evidence came out of a Silicon Valley class action lawsuit, which already has entangled Apple, Intel, Adobe, and Google. A $324 million settlement has been reached in the case, but it’s not yet a done deal. Finke has more here.
