Sony Pctures has been hacked! The cyber attack on the entertainment studio reportedly began “… about a week ago when a group called Guardians of Peace, or #GOP for short, gained access to the studio’s system and arranged for a bizarre image and poorly worded text to appear on the computer screens of employee,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Sony has been forced to shut down its “email and other systems.” However, it may be too late to protect some Sony movie releases, which might have been leaked to online piracy websites. Deadline Hollywood says the leaked films include the Brad Pitt World War 11 drama “Fury,” the remake of the musical “Annie” and the Julianne Moore’s “Still Alice,” both out this month.
The FBI is reportedly on the case and “is working with our interagency partners to investigate the recently reported cyber intrusion at Sony Pictures Entertainment.” More details on the Hollywood Reporter website.
