In a surprise move, Time Warner Cable announced today it has an agreement to for the last six games of the Dodgers’ regular season to be televised on Los Angeles station KDOC. For most of the season, Dodger fans have been hating on Time Warner Cable for not allowing the team’s home games to be carried on a local station. Time Warner Cable has a deal with the Dodgers to air the games over its SportsNet LA — however so far, none of the other providers will carry the pay channel.
“Time Warner Cable is part of this community and we’re Dodger fans too,” said Dinni Jain, Time Warner Cable’s Chief Operating Officer in a news release.” Angelenos love their Dodgers, and we’re happy to give them a way to watch their beloved team during this pennant chase.”
The Dodgers are the front-runners in the National League West. Yesterday, the Dodgers beat the Giants 4-2. That victory moved the boys in blue three games ahead of San Francisco in NL West.
The Dodger games will begin airing on KDOC next week. The Dodgers battle the Giants on September 22, 23 and 24 at 7:10 p.m. and then take on the Rockies on September 26 at 7:10 p.m., September 27 at 6:10 p.m. and September 28 at 1:10 p.m.
