If you like pancakes, most of us do, there’s a restaurant offering them free today. IHOP restaurants are celebrating the chain’s tenth anniversary of National Pancake Day! If you dine in, you get a free short stack of buttermilk pancakes. In return for the free eats, “guests will be asked to consider leaving a donation for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals or other designated local charities,” according to the IHOP pancake day website.
Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals reportedly raises funds and awareness for 170 member hospitals. Since starting National Pancake Day in 2006, IHOP has raised almost $16 million for charities. The chain’s goal today is $3.5 million.
The IHOP at 913 North San Fernando Blvd Burbank is always busy and today they’re super busy. At 9 a.m. the line was very long and the wait to be served estimated to be about an hour. The Media City location will be offering the free pancake stacks until 10 p.m. tonight.
By the way, National Pancake Day is a hot subject on Twitter. Here’s the tweet sent out by IHOP
YOU GET PANCAKES, YOU GET PANCAKES. YOU ALL GET PANCAKES! #NATLPancakeDay
