What kind of exercise do you do? Rather, what kind of exercise do you enjoy doing?
It may be different depending on your age and inclination. For some, just to stroll about through the neighborhood is regarded as an exercise.
Some people offer “breathing exercise” for an answer jokingly.
As a matter of a fact, the most important one among the exercises is really breathing exercise. If we stop breathing exercise, simply we cannot do any other exercise. The reason why breathing is not called an exercise may be because we do it automatically and continuously without our intention and consciousness. In other words, it is controlled by the autonomic nervous system.
However, there is a different point of view on breathing which can be found in Yoga, Hinduism and Buddhism. In this view, breathing is regarded as a very important exercise which can be controlled by our wills.
This view is not just held by old Indian and Oriental traditions. Even modern medical science agrees with the view. It suggests that to breathe slowly and deeply can help lose weight, reduce stress and live longer.
To breathe deeply and slowly may be possible when we keep serenity of mind and thoughts.
We always seem to feel busy, sometimes face very difficult situations, and get angry in everyday life.Now and then, we lose our composure and serenity of mind and thoughts. Often weather can promote anger and irritability and make us lose our composure.
Now it is a season when the real summer begins.
