Though it really depends on the particular individual, it seems kids often don’t share all their thoughts and feelings with their parents. I’m sure that many of us can relate when we think about our teen years and early 20s. It was the same way 4000 years ago. This is what we call generation gaps.
Even if we do succeed in trying to understand younger generations and even older generations, there would still be some clear differences between generations.
An example of this generation gap is evident as I work at the dry cleaners. I have noticed that mothers and young daughters often argue about skirt length. The daughters want their skirt to be shorter and moms want their daughter’s skirts to be longer.
Despite the existence of generation gaps, love seems to be what keeps generations together. Generation gaps in families have existed for thousands of years but families have still made it through because of love. No generation gap is too much for love.
It is almost Valentine’s Day! Love is what wins over differences. I hope that this week you will overcome differences with people with love.
Thank you for all of the love you give to our dry cleaners.
