“Ladies Night Out” in Burbank’s Magnolia Park tonight and the theme is “Superhero September.” Come as your favorite super hero and enter the contest at the UME Credit Union at 3000 West Magnolia Boulevard. Also, they’re going to be honoring the charity superheroes — groups and organizations that help others and give back to the community. Many of the stores along this trendy boulevard of vintage shops, unique stores, and eateries have teamed up with their favorite charities. Here are some of them from a short list posted on the “MagnoliaParkBurbank” Facebook page.
Dark Delicacies: Paw Star Rescue
Encore Nouveau: Wildlife Learning Center
Romancing the Bean: Heart of Angels
Van Dorn Gourmets: Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center NICU
Pinup Girl Boutique: Cancer Survivors via Jill’s Wish
Bearded Lady Vintage: No Horror for Animals
Classic Hardware: Born Free USA
Besame Cosmetics: Girls Inc.
By the way, this is the last “Ladies Night Out” in Mag Park for the year. President of the Magnolia Park Merchants Association, Ashley Erikson, explained in an email “… pretty much all stores plan on closing for Halloween so we decided it was best to not have one. As for November it falls on Black Friday and December’s falls on the day after Christmas. We will resume in January.”
That’s a downer. I was so looking forward to a Halloween celebration on Magnolia Boulevard. Perhaps they’ll consider moving it to the THIRD or the FOURTH Friday in October.
Tonight a major blowout planned with food trucks, live music, great bargains and giveaways. The event runs from 6-9 p.m.beginning around Magnolia Boulevard and Hollywood Way and extending for several blocks. More details in a nice piece on My Burbank.
