Burbank is celebrating National Night Out tomorrow at a new location. Previously, this event has been held at the more scenic and people- friendly Chandler Bikeway in Magnolia Park. Now, for some reason, there has been a switch to the rear parking lot of Burbank Police Headquarters at 200 North Third Street.
National Night Out is geared towards strengthening the ties between the community and police in the fight against crime. Started in 1984, it now involves “… over 37.8 million people and 16,124 communities from all fifty states, U.S. Territories, Canadian cities, and military bases worldwide,” according to the event website.
At Burbank Police HDQ, there are supposed to be a lot of family oriented activities, resource booths, and giveaways. This National Night Out celebration runs from 5:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday August 5. Also, there are usually NNO parties in Burbank neighborhoods as well. For more information go here.
