It was not pretty, but a win is a win. The L.A. Lakers struggled by their rivals, the Boston Celtics, to win their second straight NBA Finals title at Staples Center tonight. The score was 83 to 79. Lakers, and especially Kobe, were shooting poorly, but they never gave up — despite being behind by several points most of the game.
Kobe was the game MVP with 23 points and 15 all important rebounds. After the game, Lakers Guard Sasha Vujacic, who made two critical free throws in the fourth quarter, explained his team’s winning record : “…when we play as a team no one can beat us.” This is the Lakers’ 16th NBA championship.
