People Magazine’s most beautiful woman of 2014 and Oscar-winner, Lupita Nyong’o, has received a new honor. Nyong’o made the list of 271 achievers invited to become new members of the Motion Picture Academy of Arts and Sciences.
“This year’s class of invitees represents some of the most talented, creative and passionate filmmakers working in our industry today,” said Academy President Cheryl Boone Isaacs in a statement posted on the organization’s website. “Their contributions to film have entertained audiences around the world, and we are proud to welcome them to the Academy.”
Nyong’o won the best supporting actress Academy Award for her work in “12 Years a Slave” (2013). Some others who made the list of invitees are Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Chris Rock, Ben Foster, and Pharrell Williams. The complete list here.
Those who accept the new membership invitation will be feted at a reception in September.
