The Mega Millions jackpot is bulging with dough once again. No one picked all of the winning numbers for last Friday’s game. The numbers were: 11, 30, 40, 48, 52, and the Mega Ball 42. In California, one Mega Millions’ ticket, bought for that game, had every number except the Mega Ball — it’s worth $182, 348. The jackpot is at least $42 million for the Tuesday, August 3, drawing.
Meanwhile, that $64 million jackpot I blogged about last month has been claimed by two Southern California telephone company workers. Zahra Vasseghi of Agoura Hills and Thu Thao Truong of El Monte have been playing both the Mega Millions and SuperLotto Plus together for the past six months. On July 16, they hit the jackpot by matching all six of the winning numbers in the Mega Millions draw.
They intend to keep working for now and help their families as well as donate to charity. Oh, and they’re also going to Vegas and plan “.. to go to the Bellagio and get a suite!” … according to the Mega Millions website.
By the way, they chose the cash option, which means their ticket is worth $41.7 million. The lucky ticket was purchased at the Smoke N’ Stuff at 750 West 7th Street in Los Angeles. The owner of that business received $320,000 for selling the winning ticket.
