The latest Mega Millions jackpot is up for grabs tonight, but it’s going to take a lot of luck to win this one. New lottery rules went into place last October, so the odds of winning the jackpot have been jacked up from 1 in 179 million to 1 in 259 million. Lottery officials need to change their promotional pitch from “imagine what a buck could do” to “imagine what a buck and a lot of luck could do.”
This is the first time since March 2012 the jackpot has surpassed $200 million!
The next Mega Millions draw and chance to win this big jackpot is tonight, after ticket purchases close at 7:45 p.m.
