No one hit the jackpot in last Tuesday’s Mega Millions draw, but one California player came pretty close. Charles Messenger, a computer administration employee in Salinas, matched all the winning numbers, except the Mega Ball. That lucky ticket is worth $2.7 million. Messenger bought 20 $1 quick picks at Star Market 1275 South Main Street in Salinas last Sunday and one of them made him a millionaire, according to a California lottery news release.
Tuesday’s winning numbers are 1, 39, 52, 69, 72, and the Mega Ball 12. The Mega Millions jackpot ballooned to at least $233 million! The next draw for that lottery game is tonight.
