The Mega Millions lottery jackpot has ballooned to more than $100 million! It now stands at $105 million. That’s a huge sack of dough and it’s up for grabs in tomorrow’s draw. The winning numbers from Tuesday’s draw: 16, 32, 39, 41, 53 and the Mega 16. No one bought a ticket will all of those numbers, but one player in California did get all but the Mega correct. That lucky ticket, worth $298, 808, was purchased at Gage Liquors 6220 South San Pedro in Los Angeles.
Meanwhile, another Southlander has come forward to claim a $390, 857 prize from the August 31, 2012 draw. Minerva Gonzalez knew she had a winning ticket, purchased in Mission Viejo, but thought it was worth only $390. Gonzalez told lottery officials she was thrilled to win that — but when she went on line and discovered its true value of nearly $400, 000 she was ecstatic. Now she can make some dreams come true. Gonzalez said in a news release: “I think I’m gonna put a down payment on a house.” Gonzalez’s ticket was one of two that had all of the winning digits, except the Mega. Rafael Carmona cashed in his ticket, bought in Sherman Oaks, the day after Labor Day.
The next draw is Friday, September 7, after ticket sales close at 7:45 p.m.
