Mega Millions jackpot soars to at least $454 million. The enormous jackpot is sparking an uptick in ticket buying — pumping even more dough into the money pot. Last Friday, no one got lucky enough to pick all of the winning numbers: 20, 41, 42, 45, 49, and the Mega 14. So the jackpot jumped to $449 million. Over the long holiday weekend, lottery fever kicked in. By this morning, the jackpot had climbed to $454 million.
The jackpot has been rolling since it was hit back in March by a lucky Mega Millions player up in Washington State. Tonight’s jackpot is already in the history books as the third largest for the Mega Millions game. You got a few more hours to score a ticket and get a shot at a life changing moment. The sooner you buy the easier it will be. A lottery ticket seller at the Chevron station at Main Street and Alameda Avenue here in Burbank told me this morning, the closer it gets to draw time the longer the line gets. The cut off for ticket buying is 7:45 p.m. this evening.
Remember, even though the odds of hitting the big one are slim, sooner or later someone wins the jackpot.
