National Night Out returns to the popular Chandler Walk/Bike Path in Burbank tonight. The annual nationwide celebration promotes neighborhood camaraderie and strives to strengthen the ties between law enforcement and the community. In the past, National Night Out has drawn crowds to the Chandler Bike Path. However in 2014, the event was moved to the parking lot of the Burbank Police headquarters. Many, including some City Hall officials, felt National Night Out needed to be back at the bike path — a favorite community gathering site.
So in the Media City tonight, National Night Out will kick off at 5:30 p.m. on the Chandler Bikeway, from Keystone Street to Myers Street. The family oriented affair will feature food and kid-friendly entertainment; as well as opportunities to chat with members of the Burbank Police staff and Burbank Fire Department.
Join us today on Chandler @Keystone from 5:30-8:00 pm FREE giveaways, food, face painting…. https://t.co/B4ynH4EBY4

Also, there will be at least 18 block parties in various neighborhoods in B-town tonight. Officials hope the night of good times will help neighbors get to know each other and improve relations between police and the communities they serve. The overall goal is to make our cities and the nation safer for everyone.
