The Annual Ponytail Softball Jamboree kicked off with a parade of teams along West Clark Avenue, from Burroughs High School to George Izay park, in Burbank yesterday. Spectators were treated to a colorful contingent of spirited softball teams — some even shared their favorite cheers with the parade watchers.
Later, the girls gathered on several baseball diamonds at the park to compete in a series of challenges to show-off their softball skills.
Burbank Park, Recreation, and Community Services hosted the event, which was attended by city staffers and city officials including Mayor Bob Frutos.
