Three suspects are due to be arraigned on Monday in connection with a big pot bust in Burbank. Last Thursday “… detectives executed the search warrant and uncovered an illegal sophisticated indoor marijuana grow operation. Over 1200 marijuana plants, in various stages of maturity were seized. Investigators estimate the street value of the marijuana to be in excess of $500,000,” said Sergeant Claudio Losacco, BPD public information officer, in a news release.
Detectives first got wind of the illegal operation early last week, when local residents reportedly began complaining “about the strong odor of fresh marijuana” coming from a warehouse in the 2100 block of Kenmere Avenue. Sgt. Losacco told Media City Groove it’s hard to pinpoint exactly when the illegal enterprise started, but “investigators believe the operation had been going on for more than a few weeks.”
During the investigation, three suspects were arrested and booked for allegedly cultivating marijuana. Bail for each was set at $50,000. The suspects have been identified as Michael Hutchinson, 53 year-old Burbank resident, Jeremy Mendelsohn a 26 year-old from Sherman Oaks, and Michael Mosley, 41 year -old, of Simi Valley.
